When you register a domain name with Namescout.com, we include FREE High Security (Registrar Lock) and Auto-Renewal features that protect your domain name(s) from being unintentionally transferred, deleted, or allowed to expire.
High Security (Registrar Lock) prevents inadvertent or malicious domain name transfers or modifications by a third party. With High Security (Registrar Lock) enabled, the only way to modify any of the information for a particular domain name is through your password protected Account at https://www.namescout.com. (Note: Registrar Lock is currently unavailable for .ca domain names because CIRA does not presently support this function).
Auto-renewal works by automatically renewing your domain name(s) approximately 37 days prior to its expiry date. The renewal is for a two-year term and extends the existing registration period. For example, if the expiry date for your domain name is December 1, 2003, the new expiry date will be December 1, 2005.
After your domain name(s) have been successfully renewed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
Important: The Auto-Renewal process requires a valid credit card to be kept on file in your Account. You will be notified via e-mail if the Auto-Renewal transaction is declined for any reason.
